Messages from the CEO | 100th Agent Milestone Surpassed

First National Title Insurance Company (FNTI) licensed its 101st agent this week with the approval of Monarch Title of Texas, LLC in Fulshear, Texas, which is in Ft. Bend County. Our goal has always been to carefully add agents that share our entrepreneurial vision of the title industry and that adhere to the rigorous standards we implemented as part of our quality assurance controls. FNTI agents are some of the most respected and admired agents in the state, and we are proud to have them as a part of our network of independent-minded title agents. George's Updates | Spring...
George's Update

In A Moveable Feast, Ernest Hemingway wrote: When spring came, even the false spring, there are no problems except where to be happiest. The only thing that could spoil the day was people and if you could keep them from making engagements, each day had no limits. Fans from all over the world come to Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia to watch this event of the best players. I am so thankful to get to come to each of your offices on a regular basis to meet with you, see your teams working...

Underwriting Q&A's

Q: What are some of the most common misconceptions about Texas probate/estates encountered with underwriting calls?

A: Some of the most common areas of confusion encountered recently fall in the following categories: (i) Situation: an intestate death of a person in title, combined with an affidavit of heirship that discloses a deceased heir at law: it makes a difference whether the deceased heir at law predeceased the title holder or died afterwards. If the deceased heir at law predeceased and left descendants (children, grandchildren), the descendants take the inheritance the deceased heir at law would have received. If the deceased heir at law died after the title holder, then the inherited interest would pass either under a probated will of the deceased heir or pass by the rules of descent and distribution as the separate property of the deceased heir...
