Messages from the CEO | FNTI Recognized by Dallas Business Journal's Middle Market 50 & the Inc. 5000 2017 Fastest Growing Private Companies

First National Title Insurance Company (FNTI) qualified for the second year in a row as one of the Dallas Business Journal’s  “Middle Market 50—Fastest Growing DFW Companies.”  Middle market is defined as having revenues between $25 million and $750 million.  Over the past four years, our company has had revenues of $26 million, $36 million, $49 million, and $78 million.  With consistent revenue growth rates like these, our team improved our ranking over last year and is now ranked No. 17 among the companies that qualified

Our recent inclusion in the Inc. 5000 2017 Fastest Growing Private Companies as an honoree was also based on our company’s history of incredible growth.  We appreciate the recognition and enjoy the competition.  I am honored by this company recognition and realize that the only reason we qualified for these awards is due to your support and the trust you place in our team—every day...

George's Updates | Fall
George's Update

“Summer has come and passed the innocent can never last, wake me up when September ends.” – Green Day

“We can still find a way ‘Cause nothin’ last forever, Even cold November rain.” – Guns N Roses

I have found this to be a great time to review the year (by the way, “Thank you!”), speculate on how the year might finish (another “Thank you!”), and what we can do to improve upon next year. Each one of you has a stake in your business, regardless of your role on the team, and I have a few ideas worth pondering as you head into the New Year...

DJ's Motivational Monday | What You Do TODAY...
DJ Horn's Motivational Monday's

I recently heard John Maxwell speak about, “What you do TODAY matters.” What we do matters every day in all aspects of life. Recently, I have started writing a short note every morning to my son Will, taping it to the mirror in his bathroom. I do this to pass along something positive to start his day. The message always begins with “TODAY” followed by an inspirational message such as:

TODAY—Winning makes you a Champion but having a heart for others makes you a Hero. Do both TODAY and be someone’s SUPER HERO!

In light of recent of hurricanes and tragic events, I am certain the first responders and helpful citizens woke up on those days not knowing their TODAY was going to significantly impact others. I am also certain they live their lives with an understanding of others first and how...

Underwriting Q&A | May we pay the property taxes in Texas for 2017 and insure that 2018 taxes are “not yet due and payable”?
Underwriting Q&A's

Q: May we pay the property taxes in Texas for 2017 and insure that 2018 taxes are “not yet due and payable”?

A: Short Answer is “no”. Please read on as Procedural Rule P-20.C.1 found in the Basic Manual of Rules, Rates and Forms for the writing of Title Insurance in the State of Texas contains the phrase “for the year of the issuance of the Loan Policy or Interim Binder” therefore the “no” answer applies to all transactions closing in 2017 with the date of the policy also being in 2017. If the “not yet due and payable” coverage cannot be issued, the $5 premium (Rate Rule R-24) may not be collected...
